Meet the minds behind the words

We’re Avapond. We believe the better we all communicate, the more we'll all be successful. So we help you get the reactions you actually intended.

And here's the secret: Everything is writing.

When you email a client, you’re writing. When you demo a product, you're writing. When you negotiate a price, you’re writing. When you pitch your start-up idea, you’re writing.

Good writing is just good thinking

It’s about understanding your reader, your topic, and your goals. You can’t persuade, entertain, or inform someone, if you don’t think it through.

That’s why we became consultants, not just writers. Because, if you want a good website, advert, user interface, or instruction manual, it has to start with the thinking.

So we dare to think. In fact, that’s why we’re called Avapond. It comes from us constantly saying: “I’ll have to have a ponder.”

We start with your words

Most businesses face a common problem: People aren’t reacting the way you expected.

  • Customers aren’t clicking that link on your blog.
  • Employees are getting frustrated, despite all the benefits you’re offering.
  • Clients aren’t awarding you that bid, even though you’re perfect for it.
  • Support is getting swamped, despite having an in-depth FAQ page.
  • People just aren’t responding to your brand or ads the way you wanted.

Businesses often can’t figure out why this is happening. They blame their business structure or specific campaigns. But usually, not always — but usually — it’s more fundamental than that. It’s your words.

So that's where we come in.

We help wherever you need us

Brands not resonating. User journeys feeling clunky. Support getting overwhelmed. Human resources struggling to engage. Whatever problem you're trying to solve, there are usually three parts to it: The thinking, the creating, and the keeping-it-running.

We advise on how to fix the problem

We bridge the gap between what’s happening and what you intended to happen by starting with your communication.

We create all the things you need

We write and design the materials you need to solve your problems. Blogs, websites, brand guidelines, instruction manuals, employee handbooks, even loo signs.

We tend to all the ongoing bits

We help roll out transformation projects, get your people up to speed, refine your materials, and stay on top of any problems.

What does dare to think mean?

It means we follow six principles in everything we do.

1

Be proud of what you do

If you’re not, then what’s the point?

2

Challenge ideas

Don’t take anything at face value. Judge an idea on its merit, not who said it.
3

Trust your gut

At least, until the data says otherwise. A bad decision is better than no decision at all.
4

Tell the kind truth

Be honest with people, even when it’s hard. But remember to put yourself in their shoes first.

5

Care for others

Clients, colleagues or potential interns. They’ve all got lives and problems. Help them out.

6

Draw outside of the lines

We avoid job roles. Everyone has specialisms and things they’re bad at. Get better at what you’re bad at. Teach others what you’re good at.

Who we’ve worked with

Our team have worked on projects from gaming to finance. Telecoms to deodorant. Charity to crayons.

They’ve helped with almost everything: revamping our website, defining our messaging, producing content, setting up webinars and game jams, creating presentations, tidying up our docs – they’re just there when we need them. I couldn’t recommend them more.

Andrew Walker

Head of Business Development at Gameye

Working with Avapond has been a game-changer for us. Their efficiency and reliability, coupled with strategic thinking and exceptional transparency, set them apart. It's refreshing to work with an agency that focuses on delivering results, not upselling.

Chay Hunter

We worked with Avapond during our rebrand project, and it was a fantastic experience. They came up with the perfect name and developed a tone of voice that truly represents us. Their professional and friendly team made the whole process enjoyable and effective. Highly recommend them!

Ivan Bravo

Founder at Tinker Makes Perfect

I’ve worked with (and for) Lewis for years. And there’s one thing in his repertoire that I’ve always tried to emulate: he sets high standards, for himself and others, and doesn’t compromise on them.

Matt Phil Carver

Freelance Writer

Sarah brings creative thinking to the table in everything she does. Works fantastically well on a brief, and understands what you want to achieve even before you do. More importantly, she is dedicated to delivering a high standard.

Diana Abu-Ziater

Marketing Professional

Lewis was instrumental in getting us off the ground. He offered a flexible approach to working with us as a consulting editor, suggesting post topics, a tone of voice, a writing brief and sourcing writers which worked really well.
