Privacy Policy
What information do we collect about you?
1. We use cookies
When you visit our website, we automatically gather basic information about your device, like your web browser, IP address, time zone, and any cookies stored on your device.
As you explore our site, we also collect details about the pages you look at and how you interact with our content. We call this data "Device Information."
2. And we may collect and store your personal information
When you email us, we collect and store the following information:
- Your name and email address
- Your job title and company name
- Our communication history
- How you interact with our emails
We store this in a customer relationship system (CRM). If you work with us, we also need to store your information in our accounting software.
And if you buy one of our digital products, we store your billing information, too.
Why do we collect this information?
We collect this information for three reasons.
- Keep our website safe. By tracking cookies, we can check for potential risks or fraud (like using your IP address to spot unusual activity).
- Create a better experience for you. If we understand how you browse, we can make our website easier to use.
- Get in touch with you. If we need to email you our newsletter, answer a question, or send you a digital product.
How long do we keep it?
- General contacting us: up to 24 months after you last messaged us, then we delete it.
- CRM and newsletter contacts: kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you, reviewed periodically for contacts who've gone quiet.
- Billing and invoice records: kept for 6 years, the minimum UK law requires for financial records.
We'll only share your information if we need to
We might share your personal information with third parties to help us run our business. Right now, that's:
- HubSpot, our CRM, to manage our newsletter and emails.
- Google, we use Google Analytics to understand how people use our site.
Some of these providers are outside the UK, so your data might travel abroad. When that happens, we only work with providers who have the proper safeguards in place, like standard contractual clauses.
Lastly, we might share your information if the law requires it. That might be something like responding to a legal request (such as a subpoena) or to protect our rights and comply with regulations.
We'll never sell your personal information to any third parties.
Your rights to your information
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct or update your information
- Opt out of getting emails, or ask us to delete your data
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data. You can find out how at ico.org.uk.
Email us at hello@avapond.com if you'd like to review or delete your data.
